À l’occasion des 90 ans de Claude Bessy, les petits rats de l’Opéra ont rendu hommage à celle qui, après une carrière internationale de Danseuse étoile, fut pendant plus de 30 ans la directrice de l’École de danse de l’Opéra de Paris.
Une soirée de gala ou d’hommage est un exercice en soi. Il faut rendre compte du parcours de la personne honorée tout en présentant un spectacle répondant aux attentes du public balletomane. L’Opéra de Paris a fait le choix d’une soirée mixte pendant laquelle des extraits de ballets encadrent la diffusion d’un film documentaire – Claude Bessy, Ligne d’une vie – retraçant le parcours de l’artiste. Ce film, réalisé par Fabrice Herrault, dresse en quarante minutes un panorama de sa vie, de ses années de formation jusqu’à son départ à la retraite mêlant extraits de documentaires, captations de spectacles et documents personnels de la danseuse.
