Thomas Lebrun
Interprète pour les chorégraphes Bernard Glandier, Daniel Larrieu, Christine Bastin, Christine Jouve ou encore Pascal Montrouge, Thomas Lebrun fonde la compagnie Illico en 2000, suite à la création du solo Cache ta joie !.
Implanté en région Nord - Pas de Calais, il fut d’abord artiste associé au Vivat d’Armentières (2002-2004) avant de l’être auprès de Danse à Lille / Centre de Développement Chorégraphique (2005-2011).
On prendra bien le temps d’y être, La Trêve(s), Les Soirées What You Want ?, Switch, Itinéraire d’un danseur grassouillet ou La constellation consternée sont autant de pièces que d’univers et d’esthétiques explorés, allant d’une danse exigeante et précise à une théâtralité affirmée.
Depuis sa nomination au Centre chorégraphique national de Tours en janvier 2012, Thomas Lebrun a créé 14 pièces chorégraphiques :
- La jeune fille et la mort (2012), pour 7 danseurs, un chanteur baryton et le quatuor Voce au Théâtre National de Chaillot ;
- Trois décennies d’amour cerné (2013) lors des Rencontres chorégraphiques internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis ;
- Tel quel ! (2013), pièce jeune et tout public ;
- Lied Ballet (2014), pièce en trois actes pour 8 danseurs, un ténor et un pianiste lors du 68e Festival d’Avignon ;
- Où chaque souffle danse nos mémoires (2015), dans le cadre de l’opération « Monuments en mouvement » initiée par le Centre des monuments nationaux, au Château d’Azay-le-Rideau, au Château de Châteaudun, au Palais Jacques Cœur de Bourges, à la Conciergerie de Paris et à l’Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel ;
- Avant toutes disparitions (2016) au Théâtre national de Chaillot ;
- Les rois de la piste (2016) ;
- Another look at memory (2017) ;
- Dans ce monde (2018), pièce jeune et tout public à partir de 2 ans ;
- Ils n’ont rien vu (2019) lors du Festival Tours d’Horizons ;
- Mes hommages (2020), pièce sur trois histoires personnelles et artistiques ;
- ... de bon augure (2020), quintet inspiré par les oiseaux ;
- Mille et une danses (pour 2021), créée au Festival Montpellier Danse 2021 ;
- L’ombre d’un doute (2021), duo pour des danseurs martiniquais, en coproduction avec Tropiques Atrium.
Par ailleurs, Thomas Lebrun a co-écrit plusieurs pièces, notamment avec Foofwa d’Imobilité (Le show / Un twomen show), Cécile Loyer (Que tal !) et Radhouane El Meddeb (Sous leurs pieds, le paradis).
Il chorégraphie également pour des compagnies à l’étranger, comme le Ballet National de Liaonning en Chine (2001), le Grupo Tapias au Brésil (Année de la France au Brésil en 2009), Lora Juodkaité, danseuse et chorégraphe lituanienne (FranceDanse Vilnius 2009), 6 danseurs coréens dans le cadre d’une commande du Festival MODAFE à Séoul (FranceDanse Corée 2012), les danseurs de la compagnie Panthera à Kazan en Russie (FranceDanse Russie 2015) et la compagnie singapourienne Frontier Danceland (en 2017).
Parallèlement, il reçoit régulièrement des commandes. En juillet 2010, il répond à la commande du Festival d’Avignon et de la SACD (Les Sujets à Vif) avec la création du solo Parfois, le corps n’a pas de cœur. De même, il chorégraphie et met en scène Les Fêtes d’Hébé, de Jean-Philippe Rameau, en mars 2017 pour l’Académie de l’Opéra national de Paris, présentées à l’Auditorium de l’Opéra Bastille à Paris et au Britten Theatre de Londres.
Depuis sa nomination à la direction du Centre chorégraphique national de Tours en janvier 2012, Thomas Lebrun a diffusé son répertoire pour plus de 800 représentations partagées avec plus de 200 000 spectateurs en France (Théâtre national de Chaillot, Biennale de la danse de Lyon, Festival d’Avignon…) comme à l’étranger (Angleterre, Belgique, Brésil, Canada, Chine, Corée du Sud, Croatie, Équateur, Finlande, Italie, Japon, Hong-Kong, Macao, Pays-Bas, Pérou, Russie, Suisse, Taïwan...).
Pédagogue de formation, il place la transmission au cœur de sa démarche. Ainsi il est intervenu entre autres au Centre national de la danse de Pantin et de Lyon, au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, à la Ménagerie de Verre, au Balletéatro de Porto, à la Formation du danseur interprète de Coline, au CNDC d’Angers, etc.
Depuis 2018 et en lien avec le CDCN de Guyane et la SN Tropiques Atrium, il développe « Dansez-Croisez », un projet d’échanges et de croisements chorégraphiques avec les artistes des territoires d’Outre-mer et de la Caraïbe en métropole et intervient en Guyane, Martinique, Guadeloupe et à Cuba.
En juin 2014, Thomas Lebrun a reçu le Prix Chorégraphie décerné par la SACD et, en mars 2017, a été nommé au grade de Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
Parmi ses projets à venir figurent L'envahissement de l'être (danser avec Duras)", un solo dansé par le chorégraphe et Sous les fleurs, pièce pour 4 danseurs et 1 chanteur-danseur-musicien qui questionnera la notion de féminité chez l'homme.
